(New in Marvel Unlimited 1/22/18)
Marvel Comic Snippets: A weekly series where I highlight the interesting and amusing bits from new comics released into the Marvel Unlimited App. Instead of spending hours of reading, you only need ten minutes.
Magic swords must be pretty common in Europe. Excalibur and Guillotine both wield one, and they compare their blades.
Sword puns are always fun! Plus it’s always good to see Guillotine. I just love her costume/armor design, and I think she’d make a fun Marvel Legends action figure.
Meanwhile, Spider-Man has decided to drop by Ironheart’s home to ask her about some hacked Stark phones.
Ironheart clearly is not a fan of drop in guests.
And of course Spidey can’t resist making a joke about the Tony Stark artificial intelligence in Ironheart’s armor.
Spider-Man realizes he is late for his plans to meet up with Human Torch.
Some things never change. Spider-Man may own his own company, but he’s still too cheap for a cab….or maybe he just wants to fly.
Back in demon filled New York, Kingpin is possessed by a shadow demon from a magic artifact he used. What’s the best way to fight him? Obviously, it is to have another member of your party pick up a second magical artifact from the same collection to fight him. What could go wrong?
Journalist, Ben Urich, is really getting into the idea of being the hero of this story.
Although I’ll admit the ghostly armor does look cool.
He just pierced King Pin’s chest with the Sword of Light!
A little carried away? He just stabbed a man!
All this was to set up a D&D joke. Ok, I’ll admit I enjoyed that. Oh, and King Pin is fine.
Spider Woman does seem to know a lot about fantasy settings.
So Spider Woman is claiming that fantasy knowledge is from the men she’s dated? I’m not buying that. It’s ok to be geeky, Spider Woman, but you got to own it.
So to fight the demon hoard, we have Doctor Strange with his own magic, Kingpin with the shadow demon skull, Ben Urich with the sword of light, and I guess Spider Woman gets a plane. Alright then.
But it’s no ordinary plane! It’s a phantom plane.
Spider Woman doesn’t seem to be reassured.
I would like to see that. But maybe deal with the demons first?
